Concept of God in Buddhism
It should be emphasized that the Buddha is not God. The concept of the deity in Buddhism is different from religion Samawi concept in which the universe was created by God and the ultimate goal of human life is returning to the eternal heaven of God's creation.
Know that there is something monks What Not Born, Who not incarnate, The No Creature, the Absolute. Duhai Brethren, if None What Not Born, What is not incarnate, The Not Invented, the Absolute, then maybe we will not be free from birth, incarnation, the formation, because the appearance of the past. But the monks, because there are not born, That not incarnate, The No Creature, the Absolute, then there is the possibility to be free from birth, incarnation, the formation, because the appearance of the past.
The statement above is a statement of the Buddha are contained in the Sutta Pitaka, Udana VIII: 3, which is the concept of belief in the Almighty in Buddhism. Belief in the Almighty in Pali is Atthi Ajatam Abhutam Akatam Asamkhatam which means "One Who Not Born, Not incarnated, Not Created and the Absolute". In this case, Belief in God Almighty is the one that without me (anatta), which can not be personified and that can not be described in any form. But with the existence of the Absolute, the unconditioned (asankhata) then the conditioned human being (sankhata) can attain freedom from the circle of life (samsara) by way of meditating.
By reading conception of the Deity Almighty, we can see that the concept of the Godhead in Buddhism is different from the conception of the Deity which is believed by other religions. The difference is the concept of the Deity should be emphasized here, because there are many Buddhists who mixed up the Buddhist conception of the Deity according to the conception of the Deity according to other religions, so many Buddhists who consider that the concept of the Godhead in Buddhism is the same as the concept of the Godhead in other religions.
When we study the teachings of Buddhism as found in the Tipitaka, then not only a different conception of the Deity with the concept of the Godhead in other religions, but many others are not the same concept anyway. Buddhist concepts with different concepts from other religions include concepts about the universe, the formation of Earth and human beings, human life in the universe, Judgement and Safety or Freedom.
Within Buddhism the ultimate goal of human life is to attain Buddhahood (Anuttara samyak sambodhi) or true enlightenment in which the human mind no longer need to undergo a process of rebirths. To achieve that relief and assistance of others no effect. There is no god - goddess who can help, just by the business alone can be achieved Buddhahood. Buddha is only an example, interpreters waveguides, and teachers for the creatures that need through their own path, spiritual enlightenment, and see the truth & reality truthfully.
