Pakistan has blocked Twitter on suspicion of blasphemy on the service load of material. The site is rumored to make the microblogging service "caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad Competition" on its services.
Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Muhammad Yasin states, making caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad is strictly forbidden in Islam, because that should be removed.
"This has been done through the guidance of the Department of Information Technology Pakistan. Twitter containing blasphemous content of the material
"(Ministry) has been discussed (with Twitter) and ask them to remove some specific content," added Yasin.
Internet Service Providers Association of Pakistan said its members had been asked to block access to Twitter without a time limit - but the reason for blocking is not explained by the government.
Yasin says Twitter can be accessed again when the discussion between the governments of Pakistan and Site microblogging service that resolves the problem.
In recent years Twitter is becoming increasingly popular in Pakistan. The politicians and government officials use the microblogging service to post his writings.
Pakistan blocked access to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and about a thousand other sites during May 2010. Government of Pakistan to block because she thought some of those sites contain content that smells of blasphemy.
