They discuss how the two countries could help end the escalating violence between Israel and the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
Ben Rhodes, deputy White House national security adviser, told reporters that the United States wanted the same things as the desire of Israel wants peace. The U.S. wants to end rocket attacks on Israel by Palestinian militants in Gaza.
'' United States emphasizes diplomacy and de-escalation as the key to solving the conflict,'' said Rhodes added.
